Health and Social Care

The health and social care sector are continuing to adapt and grow in response to changing population demographics and increasing demand. Now is the time to enter this profession because there is a vast array of roles and opportunities available.

We offer a range of health and social care courses at a variety of different levels, from SCQF Level 4 up to SCQF Level 7 to prepare you for employment within this sector or progression to further study at university.

We have excellent links with local employers and related organisations, and we use these relationships to benefit our students by bringing in knowledgeable speakers from the industry and offering exciting employment and placement-based opportunities.

We know that not all learning takes place within a classroom or college setting. Therefore, we take our students out to various organisations and settings.

Many of our lecturers are still registered health and social care professionals. They all have experience, knowledge and networks from working within the NHS, private and voluntary health and social care sectors.

All our health and social care students at levels 6 and 7 complete a placement or paid employment role as part of their course. Students at level 4 and 5 are encouraged and supported to undertake relevant volunteering which will help prepare them for placement and employment in the future.

We would like to invite applications from people who want to make a real difference to the lives of people in their community by offering care and support with compassion and empathy.

It is important that all applicants are eligible for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council or Nursing and Midwifery Council and are not subject to any restrictions related to working in care under Protection of Vulnerable Groups Legislation.
