Toni Marie Mollon NC Health Care: Clinical Support Worker Level 6

Toni Marie Mollon returned to education after deciding she wanted to pursue a career in midwifery.

Toni from Bathgate is studying NC health care: clinical support worker at West Lothian College and is finding it to be very enjoyable thus far.

“I honestly love the course, I find it really interesting and I'm really excited about where it might take me.

I had been working full-time at a cheque centre. I had my kids and as they got a bit older I found myself changing shifts to work evenings. This freed up time during the day and I decided I was going to try something I had always wanted to do, so I applied for college.

Like I said I love the course but it hasn’t been easy by any means. It’s a lot of hard work and there is a lot of onus on self-study. Don’t get me wrong there is a ton of support on offer and the staff are amazing but nobody is going to do the work for you. I think that’s what makes it all the more rewarding when you get good feedback on an assessment

I really believe I made the right decision coming to West Lothian College. I have made some great friends and we all support each other.

I hope to progress onto the HNC and ultimately I want to study towards becoming a midwife.

To anyone who was thinking about going to college, I would totally recommend it. Planning is the key though. Set realistic goals and don’t leave things to the last minute. If you do that it could be one of the best decisions you will ever make.”
