The Trust

The Trust (Trauma Responsive Unique Support Tailor-made) is a wraparound service to support students who have, or have had, experience of trauma in their lives.

The team is working with partners across West Lothian and nationally to break down barriers and widen access.

There are three strands to The Trust :

  • Helping students who are not enrolled on full-time courses into education or employment
  • Our Eliminating Poverty project, funded by the Scottish Funding Council, to support 200 full-time students and their families
  • Students within the justice system who are ready to embark on their chosen career and use college as a stepping stone.

Through the project we aim to enable students to work towards positive management of their life experiences and consider opportunities to support their future plans to progress to the next stage in their employability pipeline. This involves having individual meetings with students, creating personalised plans, working with families, and responding to student and partner feedback.
