FE/Bursary Funding

What is a Bursary?
A bursary is financial support provided by the College to help students continue their education beyond the statutory school leaving age. It can cover maintenance, travel, and study-related costs. Bursary funds are limited and subject to availability.

Who Can Get a Bursary?
Bursaries are usually available for one course aimed at gaining a vocational qualification, provided the student hasn’t previously received funding for a full-time course after turning 18.

This applies to courses up to, but not including, Higher National Certificate (HNC) level. If you’ve received public funding before, your application will be reviewed individually by the college.

What Does the Bursary Cover?

The bursary may include:

  • A maintenance allowance
  • Dependants’ allowance (if applicable)
  • Study-related costs such as books, tools, or special clothing
  • Reasonable travel expenses
  • Each award is tailored to individual needs

More information can be found by clicking the links below, or you can find out about the Conditions of Award of FE/Bursary.
