    what the course includes

To attain the qualification candidates must complete 8 Units in total. This comprises:

    • 4 Mandatory Units
    • 4 Optional Units

Upon successful completion, learners will gain a recognised qualification which guarantees that they have the skills, knowledge and abilities required to carry out their role successfully.

Why choose this course?

Entry Requirements

Candidates must be in a workplace where they are carrying out relevant tasks and responsibilities which allow them to gather the required evidence.

No prior qualifications are required to undertake this qualification, although a minimum of six months experience in the children and young people sector in a senior or management role leading a team is required.

  • Where it leads

Candidates can progress from the SVQ in Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF level 9 to other appropriate SVQs and courses up to and including level 10. The progression route for each candidate will depend on their job role and level of responsibility.
