Computing & Cyber Security
The computing industry is continuing to grow in response to technological progress, meaning more people than ever are using computers and digital devices, increasing the need for expertise in this sector.
The demand for experts in cyber security is expected to continue, and there are expected to be over 700 new jobs created in computing in West Lothian alone in the next 10 years.
As a college, we offer a range of computing courses covering programming and cyber security over a variety of different levels, from Level 5 up to Level 8 (HND) to prepare you for employment within this industry.
We have excellent links with local employers and related organisations, and we use these relationships to benefit our students by bringing in knowledgeable speakers from the industry. Our previous computing students have received sessions from computing experts at oracle, cybercrime experts from a range of companies and university lecturers from Edinburgh Napier University.
Many of our computing students also complete a placement to allow them to build the skills and experience needed to excel in their future career. Previous students have had the opportunity for work placements within a range of large IT organisations, including Sky Broadcasting.
