On this course, you will build on the skills and knowledge developed over your first year on the course, and you will further learn how to think like a hacker and gain a deeper, more in-depth understanding of security issues and concerns.

Throughout this course, you will take a deeper look at topics like digital forensics,  wireless device security, and working in cyber security. This will allow you to further understand how to develop security policies that comply with current cyber security laws.  

The skills gained on this course will prepare you for a wide range of jobs within computing and ICT, or for entry into 3rd year BSc Cyber Security and Forensics at Edinburgh Napier University.

Entry Requirements

  • HNC Cyber Security (if your HNC Cyber Security is from another college, individual modules will be looked at to ensure they align with our programme)

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.

    West Lothian College has an agreement with Edinburgh Napier University, that if successful in this course, you can progress to their 3rd year BSc (Hons) Cyber Security and Forensics, or after successful completion of this course, you can apply for a range of jobs within computing and ICT.

    This includes cyber security for a large organisation, freelance cyber security and working for a smaller specialist cyber security organisation.

Interview Arrangements

If we invite you for an interview, plan to be in college for around three hours.
