West Lothian College celebrates student success at awards ceremony

West Lothian College recently held its annual graduation ceremony for students within the Assisted Programmes Centre.
On Wednesday 5th June parents, carers, staff, guests and the students gathered at the College to celebrate the student’s achievements over the year and wish the 33 graduates well as they prepared to take the next steps in the journey. The event, as always was very well attended and featured presentations from Jennifer McLaren, Vice Principal and Margaret Forisky, Centre Head for Assisted Learning. This was followed by the presentation of certificates and a delicious buffet prepared by hospitality students from the college.
The students participated in a range of activities over the year including a sponsored “social media day” where they had no access to their phones or computers in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK raising almost £300.
Margaret Forisky, Centre Head for Assisted Learning at West Lothian College commented. “This event is always a highlight of the academic year filled with lots of smiles and a few tears shed as well. It is a privilege to play a small part in the journey these students take and I’m sure they will all excel in the future”
