So you are thinking about studying at West Lothian College but don't know where to start? We know the process can seem a bit daunting so we have created a step by step guide.

Full-Time Courses - How to Apply

Apply for your chosen course by applying online via the 'apply for this course' button. You can search by subject area, level, course type, or view the full course listing by clicking 'courses' on the top of the homepage on the website. You can only apply for one full-time course each year. 

Once we receive your application, we will send you an acknowledgement email with more information.

Schools Courses - How to Apply 

You can now apply for our schools and Foundation Apprenticeship courses on our website in the same way you would apply for full-time courses. 

You should discuss your application with your school prior to applying, however we will notify your school once you have made an application on our website as these courses will then need to be taken as part of your course choice and incorporated into your timetable.

You will be asked to provide a short personal statement as part of your application, so before applying you should have a think about the reasons why you want to complete this course, any relevant experience you have and what your goals are after this course. 

Please note, only students staying on at school can apply for a schools or Foundation Apprenticeship course.

Part-Time Courses - How to Apply

To view the list of part-time courses available, click on the courses page at the top of the homepage and filter by subject area, level, or view the full list of courses available.

If a course is ITA funded then please call Student Advice on 01506 427555 before applying.

If you are interested in a part-time course that requires an interview please contact the Student Advice Centre on 01506 427555 or 01506 427558. Courses that require an interview will have this noted within the course page and in the prospectus.

How to Enrol

If you are interested in a course that does not require an interview, you can enrol by downloading an enrolment form and posting the completed form (payment method should be marked clearly on the form) to: 

West Lothian College, Student Advice Centre, Almondvale Crescent, Livingston, West Lothian, EH54 7EP

You can also e-mail the form to studentadvice@west-lothian.ac.uk

If you would prefer to pay in person please take the completed form with your payment to: Student Advice Centre, 1st floor of the street building. Your place on the course is not secure until you have made a payment.

We are open 9am-4pm Monday to Friday.

Enrolment Evenings

Alternatively, you can come along to one of our enrolment evenings. If you choose to wait until the enrolment evenings to enrol on your chosen course, you should be prepared to queue and we cannot guarantee there will be spaces left on your course of choice. Bringing the completed enrolment form with you will speed up the process.

Please note payment is required at the time of enrolment. Any cancellations prior to the course start date are subject to an administration fee.
