    Our NQ Level 6 Hairdressing course is the perfect next step for those looking to elevate their skills and expertise.

    You'll master advanced techniques in hair colouring, lightening, and colour correction, as well as complex haircutting for both ladies and gents.

    Learn how to create complete, stylish looks and provide exceptional customer care, while gaining valuable experience in retail.

    You'll work in a commercial salon environment, giving you the chance to build your knowledge and confidence in a professional setting, preparing you for a successful career in the hairdressing industry.

Entry requirements

  • NC level 5, NQ 5 or SVQ 2 hairdressing
  • You must successfully pass your interview to be accepted on this course

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 with a minimum of a C pass is required for this course.

    Employment: Qualified hairdresser working in a salon as a stylist or freelance hairdresser

Interview arrangements

We will invite you for an interview which involves: 

  • Welcome and course information 
  • Written task  
  • Individual interview 
  • Practical skills test: you must bring a suitable model for a cut and blow dry, to be completed in within a commercially-viable timeframe (90 Minutes). The cut should be either a uniform cut, graduated cut or increased layer removing minimum of one inch

  • Where do you see yourself in three years?
  • What are your strengths in hairdressing?
  • What are your weaknesses in hairdressing?  
  • Who is your inspiration on Social media? Why do you follow them? 
  • What aspect of hairdressing interests you the most and why? 
  • Name a time when you have done a creative cut and colour on a client to suit their needs? (name the techniques)
