  • NC HAIRDRESSING LEVEL 5

    What the course includes

    This course offers a comprehensive foundation in essential hairdressing skills, providing you with all the techniques needed to become a professional stylist.

    You will master key areas such as shampooing, blow-drying, haircutting (for both ladies and gents), and colouring. As part of the programme, you'll also participate in a commercial night, gaining hands-on experience working with your own clients in a real salon environment. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to compete in industry competitions, allowing you to showcase your skills and gain recognition.

    Throughout the course, guest speakers from the hairdressing industry will visit the college to share career insights, perform live demonstrations, and keep you updated with the latest trends and innovations in the field.

Entry requirements

  • At least two National 4s (including English) or equivalent 
  • You must be 16 years or over at the beginning of this course
  • ESOL Level 5 if required
  • You must successfully pass your interview to be accepted on this course.

You should also be motivated, enthusiastic and interested in the hairdressing industry. 

We welcome applications from mature returners, including those who lack formal qualifications or who wish to change career direction. 

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 with a minimum of a C pass is required for this course.

    Employment: Junior role within a hairdressing salon.
