This course is aimed at those interested in a career in the hairdressing industry, and offers possible progression on to NC level 6 hairdressing

  • NC HAIRDRESSING LEVEL 5

    What the course includes

    The course covers essential hairdressing skills. You will learn all the skills needed to become a stylist from shampooing, blow-drying hair, haircutting (ladies and gents) and colouring work. You will also have a commercial night where you will work on your own clients within a salon environment. We will also have guest speakers who will come in to the college who will tell you about career options, do live demos and will keep you up to date with trends.

Entry requirements

· At least two National 4s (including English) or equivalent

· You must be 16 years or over before November 2024

· ESOL Level 5 if required

· Must pass interview stage, practical/written task

You should also be motivated, enthusiastic and interested in the hairdressing industry.

We welcome applications from mature returners, including those who lack formal qualifications or who wish to change career direction.

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course
