Caitlin King HND Beauty Therapy

Caitlin King was an award winner at our recent graduation ceremony.

22 year old Caitlin King recently topped off 4 fantastic years at West Lothian College graduating with an HND and being awarded Student of the Year at the College’s annual graduation ceremony.

This award recognises students who, as well as outstanding academic achievement, stood out through their commitment to the college, their support for others, or their achievement of additional academic qualifications from working on an employer or volunteer placement or from success in awards and competitions.

Caitlin joined the College straight from school to study Beauty Care and Make-Up Level 5 where she had aspirations of being a Beauty Therapist. As time went on, her passion for beauty therapy remained but she looked at things from a different perspective.

“At first I really wanted to work in make-up design or nails but as time has went on I really think I would like to lecture in the subject one day. It would be great to share everything I have learned here with other students.”

As it stands just now Caitlin is a girl in demand with job offers coming in thick and fast!

“My current employers have offered me the chance to progress within the business and I recently got an offer from a salon who asked me to work for them. It’s all very exciting and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!”

Caitlin has been a fantastic ambassador for West Lothian College and she was quick to offer the following advice to anyone embarking on their studies:

“Believe in yourself. Work hard and aim high!”
