West Lothian College student wins scholarship

A West Lothian College student has been selected to receive a prestigious scholarship.

Katarzyna Korpal is a Professional Cookery Level 5 student at the college and successfully applied to receive a bespoke scholarship in association with HIT Scotland.

A HIT Scotland scholarship is a learning experience designed to give students new skills or knowledge to experience best practice. The content of each scholarship varies depending on the individual personal development objectives of the student, and the scholarship applied for.

The HIT Scotland Scholarship Programme exists to provide learning experiences as well as the chance to study at some of the world’s finest hospitality schools. HIT Scotland’s aim is to nurture local Scottish talent and develop their international and hospitality business awareness.

Katarzyna was awarded the Frank Mullen Bespoke Scholarship. Mullen was a leading innovator within Scottish tourism and this scholarship is open to all suggestions which will further develop students.

This is a bespoke Scholarship that will be tailored around Katarzyna’s application. She has expressed a desire to work with one of the country’s finest Chocolatiers.

Katarzyna’s lecturer Paul Devonshire said: “I am delighted for Katarzyna. This is a fantastic opportunity for her and I am sure she will make the most of her scholarship.”
