Women in STEM (SCQF Level 5) is a successful Full-Time fast track course designed to give women an exciting opportunity to experience what it is like to work in Engineering, Computing and Construction.

West Lothian College recently had its prestigious STEM Assured Standard revalidated by the STEM Foundation for another three years after being one of the first in Scotland to receive the coveted status in 2015.

Colin Miller from West Lothian College said: “The event at the Scottish Parliament was a fantastic opportunity to highlight the success of our Women in STEM course and we were delighted to have been invited to take part.

West Lothian College recognises that low participation of women in STEM related careers is detrimental to our economy and we are missing out on lots of talent in these areas.

STEM related careers are some of the best paid jobs in the world and there so many opportunities and possibilities in terms of career choices.

Whether your ultimate career choice is in Construction, Computing or Engineering you can be sure of a varied, interesting and rewarding future where every day has the potential to be different and, with constantly changing technology, you never stop developing your skills set.”
