West Lothian College hosted its first virtual open day on Thursday 4 June.
The event, which was the first of its kind to be held by the college, was created as a means to give potential students, their friends, and families a chance to find out more about the college and its courses, in the absence of traditional on campus open days.
Almost 200 people signed up to the open day and on the day, were set customised emails allowing them direct access to all the areas they outlined when the registered. The links directed to a range of recordings, covering support teams such as student funds, admissions, schools and student support, and over 25 different subject areas.
Following the emails, the college committed to answering questions live up to 9pm, recognising that attendees schedules may not allow them to access the content as soon as the email is recevied.
