West Lothian College holds virtual open day
Staff at West Lothian College came together online recently to hold an open day for prospective students.
Nearly 200 people registered for the college’s first ever virtual open day held on June 4, with over 1,000 views on YouTube films in the first seven hours.
There were online tour videos of each department in the campus from the library to the engineering workshops and science labs. There were also video chats with lecturers and support staff discussing what the courses offer and the different options available, and the chance to answer questions from applicants.
Jackie Galbraith, Principal of West Lothian College, said: “Thank you to everyone who registered for our first ever virtual open day. This was the first time we have held an information day like this and is one of the many ways that the college has adapted to the Covid19 pandemic.
“It was a great event and we hope that those who took part found it helpful and had all their questions answered. Although the campus buildings are closed at the moment we remain open online and college staff are available to offer support, guidance and help with your applications.”
