West Lothian College’s annual Graduation Ceremony welcomed a record number of students and an audience of more than 850.
The event celebrated the achievement and dedication of around 230 students who were collecting certificates in a variety of subjects, including: Accounting, Business, Engineering, Computing, Early Years & Childcare, Hair & Beauty, Sport & Fitness, Care and many more.
The special ceremony took place at West Lothian College on Saturday 27 October and was supported by Lareine Engineering, Business Gateway West Lothian, First East Scotland, Innovation Digital and other local businesses.
Graduates were joined by over 600 of their family and friends to mark the successful completion of their courses. West Lothian College Principal, Jackie Galbraith, presented the graduates with their certificates.
Jackie Galbraith said: “Graduation is always a fantastic day for our students and I was delighted to congratulate them all personally at my first graduation ceremony as Principal of West Lothian College. This is a proud day for students to celebrate the achievement of their qualifications and I wish all of our graduates a bright and successful future.”
The graduation was opened with a welcome from Alex Linkston CBE, chair of the college’s Board of Governors, followed by opening remarks from the Principal, and a speech from special guest from round-the-world cyclist, Mark Beaumont.
Special award winners were announced by Neil Findlay MSP with the prizes presented by West Lothian’s Provost, Tom Kerr.
