Students and staff work hard through quarantine

Social Development

We’ve received some amazing feedback from our students and learners over the past few weeks whilst we’ve been working to adapt our teaching and support for online.

Everyone at West Lothian College would like to say a massive thank you to our students for continuing to work hard throughout this time. The feedback from students has been fantastic and we wanted to share some of it.

On Facebook one student said: “Well done people, it’s this kind of spirit we’re going to have to rely on for a while. Keep up the great work.”

Another added: “So proud to be a student at West Lothian College!”

One student wrote in to say: “I just wanted to e-mail you to say well done West Lothian College, offering free counselling sessions to all students! How amazing and life changing that will be for so many students. Fantastic, big round of applause to the counsellors offering free advice via Microsoft Teams!”

One of our Children’s Hearing Scotland Trainee Panel Members wrote this lovely email: “The online training to date has been fantastic. The online quizzes have been really well thought out, informative and educational at the same time.”

She added: “I also want to give feedback on the communication we have received to date during the Covid19 restrictions. I wanted to say that communication has been just the right level, not too much and not too little. I feel the communication from yourself, Children’s Hearing Scotland and the AC have been exactly the right level with the right level of information which has been excellent.”

Another student wrote in to give some feedback on Sports and Fitness Lecturer Clair Duncan’s workout videos: “Just wanted to drop you a wee e-mail to say thanks for the classes over the past four months, I’ve really enjoyed it!

“I really liked the relaxation techniques as I’ve struggled with anxiety and depression quite badly for about 10 years and found them to be super helpful! I'd love if you could recommend some more relaxation techniques I could try as it’s something I’d like to continue doing, I think it helps my mental health so much!”
