HNC Art students at West Lothian College celebrating outstanding success yet again and looking forward to their future.

This year, eight students have a total of 26 offers for further study between them, including three with the chance to go straight into the second year of a degree.

HNC Art Student Rachel Hetherington said: "In the midst of a difficult situation, I am grateful for the brilliant college experience I have still been able to have. A combination of the hard work our tutors put into appropriately adapting the course and the access to studio space made for a truly fruitful year of work.”

Art lecturer Alex Harvey added: "This year has been particularly challenging, with us having to radically adapt our studio practices, teaching methods and spend time working from home for extended periods. The HNC Art students have shown incredible resilience and enthusiasm throughout.

“We are delighted that every one of our graduates who applied for art school or university this year has had such tremendous success; they have amazing offers. Sometimes adversity brings out the best in people and that is certainly true of our art students, they have created some poignant and inspirational work.”

A massive congratulations is in order for Rachel and fellow students Mairi Dare, Tyler Hall, Sarah Macphail, Shannon McCrory, Megan Owen, Lauren Smith and Kiera Walsh. The students have received offers from the likes of Glasgow School of Art, Edinburgh College of Art, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design and Gray's School of Art.

The students will be showcasing their work online at: https://wlchnc.wixsite.com/website.

This year will see fifteen former HNC Art students graduate with various degrees, with many going onto Masters.
