Equalities week at West Lothian College
West Lothian College is supporting Equalities week which runs from 10- 14 December. A range of activities and promotion is being planned to celebrate diversity and showcase how everyone at the college is treated equally, no matter their background.
The highlight of Equalities week at the college is an exhibition by the Anne Frank Trust, which will be running for the whole week. Staff and students are encouraged to attend as the trust uses the moving story of Anne Frank’s life as part of their education work to create a society safe from prejudice and discrimination.
Other activities include: bespoke equalities training; a social media campaign to raise awareness; and a treasure hunt organized by the Student Association.
Staff and students should look out for a full timetable of activities being published shortly.
Jenny Stalker from West Lothian College said: “West Lothian College is delighted to be supporting Equalities Week, which runs from 10 to 14 December. The aim of the week is to celebrate equality and diversity, showing all students, applicants, staff and stakeholders that the college supports equality and diversity for all.
“We would encourage all staff and students to get along to some of the events taking place throughout the week aimed at celebrating equality and diversity.
“The exhibition by the Ann Frank Trust promises to be a fascinating event highlighting key equality issues, and I hope as many of our staff and students as possible take the chance to go along.”
