College launch campaign to bring Christmas cheer to children of students in need

West Lothian College has launched a campaign to help students with young children this Christmas.

West Lothian College has launched a campaign to help students with young children this Christmas.

The initiative, driven by engineering lecturer Frank Farrar and the college’s Student Association, hopes to make the festivities a little sweeter for those in need as the college appeals for selection boxes.

Donated chocolates will also be given to Livingston’s local food bank.

Frank, who lectures in fabrication and welding, said: “The student association president and I came up with the idea of launching a Christmas selection box drive, where students and staff could donate selection boxes to the college that we could then distribute to students with young children, and to local children who may not receive very much, if anything, this year.

“Christmas should be a magical time for children. For those who are facing tough times, we thought this may help spread a bit of Christmas spirit.”

If you want to help the college spread some kindness and cheer, selection boxes can be dropped off at the Student Association in Building 1 on the colleges Livingston campus.
