West Lothian Leisure is a Community Benefit Organisation, a registered Scottish charity. It is at the heart of the West Lothian community, helping people to improve their wellbeing and make healthy lifestyle choices. It cares passionately about the service it provides to the people who live, work and visit West Lothian. It is a delivery partner of choice for other West Lothian organisations responsible for improving people’s lives through sport, health and physical activity.
Work Experience Placements
West Lothian College and West Lothian Leisure agree to work jointly to provide work experience, recognising that it provides opportunities for applied learning, significantly boosts student confidence, and enables a greater likelihood of achieving academic progression and employment.
Work experience can span an array of methods, which are predominantly led by the business and can include:
- Industry professionals lectures
- Employers involved in student recruitment and selection, pre-study and post recruiting from graduates
- Project based placements (conducted on and off site)
- Work based placements
- Vocational day trips (full or part class)
- Employer input to course content
West Lothian College has many established relationships with strong links to industry and professional bodies with partnerships present in 69% of full-time courses stretching across large and small enterprises in the public, private and third sectors.
