This course is for those students with learning disabilities and/or difficulties who are ready to become more independent after their time at school or College. The programme has two focal points: personal and social development, and transition into adulthood.  

Days of study:  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am-4pm, some study may be online.

  • What the course includes

    This programme provides students with opportunities to discuss their own experiences, perceptions and understanding of relevant topics and issues. 

    Students will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to evaluate, plan and manage their learning and make effective transitions. 

    Students will explore the concept of ‘self’ and awareness of their own personal and social development needs.

Why choose this course

A range of opportunities arise to work with others both in college and also with external groups. The course will include sessions with Careers staff, Employers and College staff from vocational areas and external support agencies. Students will engage one morning per week with a different department within college such as photography, construction or hospitality. 


Entry requirements

All applicants will engage in an informal interview with staff to establish their needs and what opportunities are available to them. Transition information is essential for all school leavers.
