This course is open to S3 to S6 pupils who enjoy art and being creative. You don’t need to do art at school to take the course.

If you are doing art at school, it will support and expand the skills and techniques you are learning. This will help you create additional work for National 5 and Higher Art. You can work on the themes you are already using. 

If you don’t do art at school, you can create a folio of artwork to maintain your interest and skills for the future.

    What the course includes

    The course covers creative subjects such as jewellery, printmaking techniques, textiles and fabric, 2D mixed media and sketchbook. It offers the chance to use art skills in a professional and enterprise context. There is an end-of-course exhibition and sale.

    You will produce artwork and may take part in the end of year exhibition and sale. You will gain qualifications for courses including creating materials for display and taking part in business enterprise.

On our HNC Art (Portfolio Production) in 17/18, 11 out of 12 students made applications for degree level study and were all offered places on their chosen courses.
