SCHOOLS FRIDAY FOLIO

This course is open to S3 to S6 pupils who enjoy art and being creative. You don’t need to do art at school to take the course. 

If you are currently studying art at school, it will support and expand the skills and techniques you are already learning. This can help you create additional work for National 5 and Higher Art. You can work on the themes you are already using. 

If you don’t study art at school, you can create a folio of artwork to maintain your interest and skills for the future. 

On this course you will work in the same way as you would if you were an art student, you will learn in a way which compliments your learning at school.

    What the course includes

    The course covers creative subjects including, printmaking techniques, textiles and fabric, 2D mixed media, digital and sketchbook. 

    It offers the opportunity to expand your art skills and broaden your knowledge, with the possibility of an end of course display of work which your family and friends can attend. 

    Many pupils have accessed this course to support their personal and social skills development and boost their confidence.

An interest in art and design and a commitment to good attendance.

  • Where this course leads

    You will produce artwork and may take part in an end of course display. You will gain college qualifications for projects within the course.  

    You may choose to apply for NQ Creative Industries, NQ Art and Design or HNC Art Portfolio Production; the portfolio of work you create in this course will support this.

We will invite you along to a group interview to meet with a member of the art team for an informal discussion about what you are looking for, to answer any questions, discuss what the course is about and what college can offer you.
