This course is aimed at school pupils who are interested in the Creative Industries, specifically photography, graphics, video, animation and television. Giving them the chance to find out more about these areas and carry out practical projects.

    What the course includes

    This is mainly a practical course which will give you the opportunity to explore the creative industries using our up-to-date digital resources.

    You’ll learn about what is involved in different areas of the creative industries and the opportunities for work. You’ll meet our experienced teaching team and get the chance to consider further study in creative areas, such as art, video, photography or graphics.

    The course also gives the pupil the opportunity to experience the College environment, work with state-of-the-art equipment and produce practical work of their own design.

You will receive expert guidance and support from our skilled teaching team who have a wide variety of Creative Industries Industrial experience. Pupils will also achieve the following SQA units:

  • Creative industries: basics
  • Creative industries: practical skills development

Many students have progressed to further study within the College’s Creative Courses or other education centres.

The creative team have industrial experience of all the areas taught on the programme and also undertake their own creative projects. They are able to offer informal advice to pupils on their future academic and career paths.

Entry requirements

The course is for anyone who is interested in the creative industries. You don’t need previous experience or knowledge.

  • Where this course leads

    The course will help you progress on to further study, including our NQ in Creative Industries at level 5. 

Interview arrangements

Submitting a personal statement on your application, outlining your specific interests in the creative industries. Stating any practical experience you have in these areas and anything you may have done at School that relates to the Creative Industries.

We may invite you for an informal chat with a member of the creative team to explain what the course entails.
