This practical, hands-on course provides training in all aspects of electrical installations. 

On this course, you will learn how to safely install, test, connect, and maintain domestic electrical systems while preparing for a career as an electrician.

Working within the electrical workshops, using industry standard tools and equipment to carry out electrical project work you will develop the required skills for the next steps into industry.

Days: Monday / Tuesday / Wednesday   
Times: Monday & Tuesday 9am - 4pm and Wednesday 9am - 12pm   
Duration: 17 weeks

What are the entry requirements?

Applicants must hold at least one of the following:

  • National 4 Mathematics, or
  • NQ Electrical Installation Level 4 qualification, or
  • Foundation Apprenticeship in a related subject

It is preferable applicant also have one of the following:

  • National 4 Physics
  • Where will it lead?

    Progression will lead onto electrical engineering course SECTT pre-apprenticeship course or an apprenticeship. 

Interview Arrangements

The interview involves a practical skills test and a group interview. You will need to bring copies of your previous qualifications on the day.
