FOUNDATION APPRENTICESHIP Level 5 Construction (TUE & THU)

This course is for S4 to S6 students keen to study the construction trade- it offers learners a route to working directly with an employer through project-based learning experiences and enables them to develop both technical and meta-skills via a work-based project.

his Level 5 Foundation Apprenticeship is designed for learners who are currently working at Level 5 at school in construction related subjects, to enhance their skills. 

Work-based projects that are carried out on this course is co-designed and agreed by our partner employer who also makes a structured and regular contribution to the programme. 

Learners further develop technical and meta-skills based on work situations within the project and an understanding of the construction industry.

  • What the course includes

    The course introduces students to the construction industry and covers:

    • Carpentry and bench joinery
    • Site joinery
    • Sustainability

    There’s the chance to gain SQA credits which will help you move into further study or work.

Entry requirements

  • Working at SCQF Level 5 in construction related school subject OR
  • Completion of the Level 4 FA in Construction
  • Excellent school attendance record
  • Where it will lead

    Progression to the other construction course Level 5/6 programmes at college, or an apprenticeship in the construction industry.
