DIPLOMA IN DIGITAL APPLICATION SUPPORT SCQF 6

The Diploma in Digital Application Support at SCQF Level 6 provides learners with a qualification that will demonstrate that they can troubleshoot and solve problems using a range of different application software packages appropriate to the business context in which they are working.

    What the course includes

    The Diploma at SCQF level 6 is a broad-based qualification allowing some scope for specialisation in structured data processing, web or multimedia applications or helpdesk application support. It covers areas such as;

    • Developing personal and team effectiveness using IT
    • Health and safety in IT and telecoms
    • Understanding the potential of IT
    • Digital information management
    • Digital communications
    • Digital network environments; and
    • Optimising IT system performance

Why choose this course

As assessment is normally carried out in the workplace this minimises any time learners would need to be away from their work and allows candidates to generate evidence based on the actual work they are carrying out.

You will be assigned a highly experienced assessor to work with you on an individual basis. This assessor will support you build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating your knowledge and competence in this sector.

What are the entry requirements?

  • Candidates must be in a work place where they are carrying out relevant tasks and responsibilities which allow then to gather the required evidence
  • No prior qualifications are required to undertake this qualification, although a minimum of three months experience in this sector is required

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.

  • Where will it lead?

    The Diploma in Digital Application Support at SCQF level 6 could provide progression to:

    • An HNC/HND in Computing or a related area
    • A PDA in Desktop or Computer Support
    • Employment in the IT sector
