  • Why choose this course

Transition in Action - One exciting part of the course is The Welcome Market, a student-run weekly pop-up shop selling discounted goods to the college community, where you'll gain key skills in customer service, numeracy and communication with customers across the college. It's a great way to practice real-world skills in a supportive environment.

Skills for LifeYou'll learn important skills for living independently with support and get to join in on activities across the college and hear from guest speakers. You will hear form different people and the jobs they have. For example, you might meet the local police officer who can tell you how to keep safe or have a taster session across the college for example in childcare or construction.

Preparation for Further Education/EmployabilityYou will have a range of opportunities to work with others both in college and also with external groups. The goals of the Preparation for Further Education/Employment course is to prepare you for your next step and we will work with you on an individualised basis where possible to plan your learning journey.

Interview Arrangements

We will invite you in for an informal chat.

Our lecturers work closely with each student to identify their strengths and consider any barriers to securing employment. For some, confidence building and managing a new situation is the initial goal and for others who are clear on what they want to do, the goal is to gain experience in the workplace.
