Lorna Reid, HND Accounting

Now as she prepares to complete her HND Lorna took some time to look back on her time as a student.

"I have been studying accounting at the college since 2016 and I have made some amazing friends that I would most likely have never crossed paths with if it hadn't been for college. It's a bit strange to think that I'm coming to the end of my time here."

Having successfully completed the NC and HNC, Lorna is weeks away from achieving her HND. She puts her success down to close relationships with her colleagues and teaching staff.

"I found that being open with your lecturers and class mates about what works for you makes a huge difference, share ideas and work together. We spend so much time together as a class so we try and help each other along as much as we can. It makes the learning experience even more enjoyable."

Finally Lorna had this advice for anyone looking to follow in her footsteps and progress at West Lothian College.

"Firstly, do it if you aren’t already!  Secondly, if you practice enough and put in the time you can achieve anything!  Be resilient and believe in yourself!  Coming to college has opened so many doors for me and offered various different routes as next steps I didn’t think would be possible to me."
