Daniel McCann HNC Computing
Daniel McCann is 21 and studies HNC Computing at West Lothian College.
Having progressed from the NQ course onto the HNC, Daniel is enjoying his time at the college and not having to travel far to study.
“I chose West Lothian College for many reasons but one of the main ones was the fact that the college is in Livingston. It really does make a big difference not having to travel to Edinburgh or Glasgow. I studied at James Young High School and they pointed me in the direction of the college to continue studying and I haven’t looked back since.
I was always keen to pursue a career in computing as it is an ever-growing industry and I feel already learned a lot studying at West Lothian College. I have particularly enjoyed practical trouble-shooting, learning where we learn to dismantle hardware and repair any problems. One thing that I found was the transition from NQ to HNC was very streamlined and in my opinion that makes it much easier when you are progressing.”
On completion of his course Daniel hopes to have a career in games design.
