NC Level 5 Beauty Care and Make Up

She was subsequently accepted into NC Level 5 Beauty Care and Make Up at West Lothian College and she is a big fan of how the subject is taught.

“I felt like none of the subjects available to me at school had any relevance to what I wanted to do. Beauty had been taught at my school years ago but had been cancelled and when I was asked I was told that they couldn’t bring it back. After speaking with my teachers I decided to apply for college. I initially applied for Level 6 but after speaking to the lecturers they decided I should start at Level 5 and work my way up.”

Having been at college for a few months Carmen has noticed a change in herself.

“I feel a lot happier! Coming to college makes me feel happier as a person as I’m concentrating on something I enjoy doing and what is hopefully going to be the starting point of a career for me. Coming to college is giving me opportunities I may not have been given anywhere else.”

Carmen plans to complete Level 5 before progressing onto Level 6 and beyond.
