Foundation Apprenticeships

Apply now

Foundation Apprenticeships bridge the gap between the classroom and the workplace, giving you earlier exposure to the world of work!

How do they work?

If you are going into 4th, 5th or 6th year at school, you could study a Foundation Apprenticeship at West Lothian College as part of your school curriculum.

The courses are the same level as a Higher, and are studied usually over the course of two years, allowing you to combine these with your other school studies. During your Foundation Apprenticeship you will spend time with employers, through both industry speakers and class trips, as well as through a work placement- giving you real, hands on work experience in your chosen industry.

If you are a parent or guardian considering the opportunities open to your young person, you can read our parent/guardian guide here
