West Lothian College welcomed nearly 150 students and 300 guests to its 2021 graduation ceremony on Saturday, October 23.
The event celebrated the achievement and dedication of our students who were collecting certificates in a variety of subjects, including: Accounting, Business, Engineering, Computing, Early Years & Childcare, Hair & Beauty, Sport & Fitness, Care and many more.
The special ceremony took place at West Lothian College on Saturday 23 October and was supported by the Verdancy Group, First Bus, Curries Print Centre, DYW West Lothian, SERS, JBT, Morrison Construction, Entrotec and Maxi Construction.
Graduates were joined by their family and friends to mark the successful completion of their courses. Social distancing and health and safety measures were put in place to ensure all graduates and guests to enjoy the ceremony safely. West Lothian College Principal, Jackie Galbraith, presented the graduates with their certificates.
The graduation was opened with a welcome from Alex Linkston CBE, chair of the college’s Board of Governors, followed by opening remarks from the Principal.
Special award winners were announced by Fiona Hyslop MSP. The winners were as follows:
Student of the Year for Computing, Engineering and Built Environment - Andy Hack, HNC Cyber Security
Student of the Year for Business, Creative and Enterprise - Hilary Mackay, HND Beauty Therapy
Student of the Year for Care, Health and Sport - Courtney McClymont, HNC Childhood Practice
SQA Student of the Year - Amanda-Leigh Campbell, HNC Care and Administrative Practice
