The lecturers’ trade union has voted in favour of a national programme of strike action across colleges in Scotland.

While talks are taking place at a national level to try and resolve the dispute, the union is planning to go ahead with two days of strike action this week on Wednesday 31 March and Tuesday 1 April.

You should turn up online or on campus for any classes you have on these days UNLESS you have been told by the college by lunchtime today that your class has been cancelled.

The college will remain open, mainly online due to the pandemic, for support and guidance. We will work hard to limit the impact of the strike on your learning.

Please speak to your lecturer in the first instance if you have any concerns,

You can also contact our student support team by emailing supportlearning@west-lothian.ac.uk.

We will update you on developments as they happen — directly and through social media channels, so please keep checking for updates.

We know this has been a challenging year for you and want to reassure you that we will do everything we can to help you to achieve your qualification.
