West Lothian College hosted a roundtable discussion and networking event for International Women’s Day.

Chaired by Kirsty McNeill MP, it brought together inspiring local businesswomen to share their talent, insight and experience.

Discussing the "Give to Gain" theme for 2026, Ms McNeill highlighted how new UK Government protections- from parental leave to safety initiatives, are “ensuring women gain from their immense contributions to our economy”.

Hazel Brady, Principal of West Lothian College, said: “It was a privilege to host this event at our college and welcome so many inspiring women from across West Lothian. This created a powerful space for sharing talent, experience and insight, and it was wonderful to hear what International Women’s Day means to each of them. Bringing these voices together reminded us of the strength that comes from collaboration, support and celebrating the achievements of women in our community.”

Attendees at the roundtable, alongside the Minister, included Electra McPhillips (CEO, Firefly Arts), Katrina Cargill (Logistics Manager, Edinburgh Instruments), Allison Barr (CEO, TeamJak), Angela Moohan (Founder and CEO, The Larder), Nicole Scott (Chamber Manager, West Lothian Chamber of Commerce), Florence Aluu (Founder and Digital Head, Flosverse Techsphere CIC), Deborah Ashan (Flosverse Techsphere CIC), and Simone Young (Mitsubishi).
