West Lothian College operates mainly out of it's single campus in the heart of Livingston. Here we have a wide range of facilities for students, staff, businesses and the community to use. 

Learning and Teaching Facilities

West Lothian College is well equipped with a range of learning and teaching facilities on campus to meet the needs of our students and staff. On site facilities on campus include a state-of-the-art fitness suite, sports hall, commercial kitchens, children's playroom, engineering workshop, fully functioning mechanics garage, electrical engineering workshops, lecture theatres, collaboration stations, art and photography studios, laboratories and classrooms for all needs and sizes of classes. 

For our students, the community and to hire

We have a range of facilities on campus which are available for our students to use outwith their learning and teaching time, for commercial lets and for community events.

Largest indoor sports hall within West Lothian

West Lothian College boasts a the largest multi-functional indoor sports hall within West Lothian, which is utilised by our students on Monday to Friday day times during term time to teach a variety of sports; including futsal, fitness testing, badminton, basketball and tennis. 

The sports hall is available to hire in the evenings and weekends for sports events, training, tournaments or other non-sport related events. The hall can be carpeted and set up for non-sport events upon request. Catering can also be supplied upon request.

Conference rooms

We have a range of interchangeable conference rooms which are available to hire. These flexible facilities are ideal for training needs, meeting venues or for larger conference style events. Room dividers can be removed to allow for a bigger space and the conference facilities can manage group sizes from 10 to 200.

All rooms come with a projector, WiFi, sound system, tables and chairs.

Catering and refreshments are available on request. We offer set menus or bespoke to suit your needs. Water is freely available.

Terrace restaurant

The Terrace Restaurant was awarded the Scottish Restaurant of the Year 2015 and 2017. The restaurant is primarily a training restaurant for our Hospitality students, providing a valuable experience of a real restaurant situation where they produce dishes of the highest standard.

The students are supervised by expert chefs in the planning, cooking and serving of dishes and the restaurant operates in a totally professional manner.

The restaurant is open to students, staff and members of the public for both lunches and evening meals.

Endurance Fitness Suite

Our state-of-the-art air conditioned Fitness Suite offers a multitude of fitness equipment to support your wellbeing, health and fitness.

Endurance provides specialist teaching facilities in cardiovascular, weight training and sports specific conditioning for the full range of West Lothian College's full-time sport & fitness courses.

Located in the Street Building, membership is open to all staff and students at only £10 per academic year.

Opening Times are Monday to Friday: 12-1pm and Tuesday & Thursday: 4-6pm

The Daily Mile – we have groups of students who set off most days on The Daily Mile.

Lunchtime classes – we offer classes during lunchtime and these include Boxing on a Tuesday and Thursday.



Platinum Salon & Spa

Platinum is a modern, commercial hairdressing and beauty salon offering state of the art treatments using the very best products. Hair cutting, styling, and colouring are all available along with a range of the latest beauty and spa treatments including massage, waxing, paraffin wax massage and aromatherapy.

Emeal Cafe

The Emeal Cafe is our onsite cafe which sells a range of breakfast food, homemade soups, popular meals, snacks, salad bar, yoghurts, fruit, crisps, sweets and cold/hot drinks are also available.

Opening hours during term time are:

Monday to Thursday 8.00am-2.00pm, Friday 8.00am-1.00pm.

Coffee Pod

The Coffee Pod is our onsite coffee shop which sells a range of quality Italian coffee, hot chocolate and specialty teas. Homemade soup, filled rolls and sandwiches, panini's, toasties as well as home baking, sweets, crisps and cold drinks.

Opening hours during term time are:

Monday to Thursday 8.00am – 6.00pm and Fridays 8.00am to 1.00pm.

Library

The College library provides a valuable source of information and a convenient place to study. It provides a range of learning materials and is equipped with computers which can be accessed to enable you to undertake research, prepare assignments, and practice or acquire IT skills. A member of staff will be available at all times to support study.

The library is located on the Ground Floor of the Street Building.

Term Time Opening Hours

8.30am - 9.00pm (Monday,Tuesday & Thursday)
8.30am - 5.45pm (Wednesday)
8.30am - 3.15pm (Friday)

These are term time hours.Non term time hours will be shown when necessary or call a member of staff for further details on 01506 427601.

The library currently has 36 PCs and 10 laptops all with Microsoft office and fast internet access. Photocopying and printing facilities are also available.

We have a comprehensive collection of both printed and electronic books, magazines, DVDs plus access to a growing number of online databases. As a student of the college you can borrow up to 5 items from the library. Careers information and support is also available with a job vacancy and local information board and leaflets.
