West Lothian College, in partnership with West Lothian Council, Meloosha Homecare, 1st Class Care, T&T Health Care Solutions & Call-In Homecare are providing an exciting opportunity to prepare people for jobs in social care through a Skills Boost programme.

Interview date: 9th May

Induction date 15th May

 

  • What the course includes

    The course is made up of two weeks learning provided by West Lothian College followed by an structured induction from your new employer. The college part of the course includes care values, roles and responsibilities of a social care worker, IT skills and care planning. Your employer will cover all the mandatory and practical training, such as manual handling, responding to health emergencies, medication policy and more for your new job role.

Entry requirements

You do not need any formal experience or qualifications. We will provide you with all necessary training once you’re in the role.

Interview arrangements

Applicants should note that you are applying for a job interview and should prepare for a job interview. This will include full time and part time opportunities. In completion of an application, you should state why you are applying for this course.

Applicants need to pass all pre-employment checks, such as satisfactory PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) membership with Disclosure Scotland and an Occupation Health report.

Applicant should note hours of duty will include shift work, including day, evening and weekend cover. For community roles applicants will require a drivers licence and may be required to use own car and secure business insurance.
