This fast-track course gives women the chance to experience what it is like to work in engineering, computing and construction. You will learn skills and knowledge to guarantee progression on to more advanced full-time programmes or employment. There are opportunities for well-paid work in the growing STEM sectors because of skills gaps.

  • What the course includes

    The course includes STEM subjects such as:

    • Computing: networking, programming and web design
    • Construction: introduction to civil engineering
    • Engineering: practical and theoretical skills in mechanical engineering (things that move/want to move); electronic engineering (wiring, soldering and understanding how technology works); workshop skills (to make high-tolerance objects using lathes, mills and hand-tools)
    • Computer-aided design (CAD)
