This course is aimed at those interested in a career in the beauty industry. It introduces beauty therapy careers, and prepares for progression on to NQ Level 6 Beauty and Spa Therapies 

  • What the course includes

    The course covers the knowledge and skills needed for beauty therapy and the make-up industry. These include: 

    • Make-up
    • Gel Polish 
    • Anatomy and Physiology 
    • Manicure 
    • Facials 
    • Waxing 
    • Pedicure  
    • Lash and Brow treatments  
    • Communications 
    • IT
    • Health and Safety

This course includes practical demonstrations and lectures while working in our realistic salon which is fully equipped to perform treatments. You will learn skills by initially practicing on each other prior to completing on clients once proficient. Entry Requirements

  • At least two National 4s including English 
  • You must be 16 years or over before the 29th of August 2022

We welcome applications from mature returners, including those who lack formal qualifications or who wish to change career direction. 

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.

  • Where it leads

    Education: NQ Level 6 in Beauty and Spa Therapies 

    Employment: Assistant in a salon, retail assistant within the beauty therapy industry

  • Only applicants that are successful at interview and achieve the minimum test scores will be offered a place.
