The Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in Warehousing and Storage at SCQF level 5 allows candidates to demonstrate competence in job-related skills in their particular area of work and expertise.

This SVQ is suitable for:

  • Individuals who are currently in employment and who wish to obtain a formal qualification

  • Employees who wish to obtain short, continuing professional development courses

    What the course includes

    SVQs in Warehousing & Storage are designed to for those in a warehousing and storage setting

    Mandatory units cover:

    • Health and safety
    • Working relationships
    • Moving and handling

    There are a wide range of optional units including:

    • Customer service
    • Cleanliness of equipment
    • Maintain stock
    • Picking goods
    • Assembling orders
    • Processing returns, and
    • Applying technology

Why study this course

As assessment is normally carried out in the workplace this minimises any time learners would need to be away from their work and allows candidates to generate evidence based on the actual work they are carrying out.

You will be assigned a highly experienced assessor to work with you on an individual basis. This assessor will support you build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating your knowledge and competence in this sector.

Entry requirements

  • Candidates must be in a work place where they are carrying out relevant tasks and responsibilities, which allow then to gather the required evidence
  • No prior qualifications are required to undertake this qualification, although a minimum of six months experience in this sector is required

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.
