The Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in Customer Service at SCQF level 6 allows candidates to demonstrate competence in job related skills in their particular area of work.

 

These qualifications have been designed in partnership and are jointly awarded with the Skills CFA Sector Skills Council to ensure relevance to the sector.

Upon successful completion, learners will gain an international recognised qualification which guarantees that they have the skills, knowledge and abilities required to carry out their role successfully.

  • What the course includes

    SVQs in Customer service are designed to for those delivering customer service within organisations

     

    Level 6 involves a range of activities

    Mandatory units cover

    • Show understanding of customer service
    • Show understanding of the rules that impact customer service

    There are a wide range of optional units including

    • Deal with customers in writing and electronically
    • Organise reliable customer service
    • Improve customer relationships
    • Monitor and solve problems
    • Process complaints
    • Gather and analyse feedback, and
    • Implement improvements

Why study this course?

As assessment is normally carried out in the workplace this minimises any time learners would need to be away from their work and allows candidates to generate evidence based on the actual work they are carrying out.

You will be assigned a highly experienced assessor to work with you on an individual basis. This assessor will support you build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating your knowledge and competence in this sector.

Entry Requirements

  • Candidates must be in a work place where they are carrying out relevant tasks and responsibilities which allow then to gather the required evidence.
  • No prior qualifications are required to undertake this qualification, although a minimum of six months experience in this sector is required.

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.

  • Where it leads

    SVQ’s in Customer Service could provide progression to:

    • SVQ in Customer Service or related area at a higher SCQF level
    • Employment in the customer service sector at a higher/promoted level
    • Employment in a related area which demands good customer service, eg retail, hospitality, the financial sector
