  • What the course includes

    To attain the qualification candidates must complete 8 units in total. This comprises:

    • 5 mandatory units
    • 7 optional units

As assessment is normally carried out in the workplace this minimises any time, learners would need to be away from their work and allows candidates to generate evidence based on the actual work they are carrying out.

You will be assigned a highly experienced assessor to work with you on an individual basis. This assessor will support you build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating your knowledge and competence in this sector

Entry requirements

  • Candidates must be in a job or placement where they are carrying out relevant tasks and responsibilities which allow then to gather the required evidence.
  • No prior qualifications are required to undertake this qualification, although a minimum of six months experience in this sector is required.

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.

  • Where it leads

    Education: an HNC/HND in Supply Chain Management or a related area; an SVQ at levels 4 and 5 in Supply Chain Management; relevant professional body qualifications such as Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS); degree level study at a higher education institution

    Employment: opportunities in a wide range of sectors, perhaps as a senior buyer or procurement manager
