SVQ 3 HEALTHCARE (CLINICAL)

The Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) level 3 Healthcare Support (Clinical) at SCQF level 7 allows learners to demonstrate competence in job-related skills in their particular area of work and expertise.

This qualification has been designed in partnership with the Skills for Health Sector Skills Council to ensure relevance to the sector.

    What the course includes

    This qualification covers areas such as 

    • promoting effective communication in a healthcare environment
    • maintaining health, safety and security practices within a health setting
    • developing practice through reflection and learning
    • preparing individuals for endoscopic procedures

Why choose this course?

As assessment is normally carried out in the workplace this minimises any time learners would need to be away from their work and allows candidates to generate evidence based on the actual work they are carrying out.
You will be assigned a highly experienced assessor to work with you on an individual basis. This assessor will support you build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating your knowledge and competence in this sector.

Entry Requirements

  • Candidates must be in a workplace where they are carrying out relevant tasks and responsibilities which allow then to gather the required evidence.
  • No prior qualifications are required to undertake this qualification, although a minimum of six months experience in this sector is required
  • It is essential you are able to support others

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.

  • Where it leads

    Upon successful completion, learners will gain an international recognised qualification which guarantees that they have the skills, knowledge and abilities required to carry out their role successfully.

    Candidates can progress to employment in the Healthcare sector, perhaps as a Healthcare Support Worker related or undertake PDAs in the Healthcare sector.

    The progression route for each candidate will depend on their job role and level of responsibility.
