  • What the course includes

    This qualification covers areas such as

    • workplace health and safety
    • food safety
    • standards of behaviour in hospitality
    • team working; and preparing 
    • cooking a wide range of ingredients to produce basic dishes

Entry Requirements

  • Candidates must be in a workplace where they are carrying out relevant tasks and responsibilities which allow then to gather the required evidence.
  • No prior qualifications are required to undertake this qualification.
  • Where it leads

    Education

    • Candidates can progress from the Level 1 Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in Professional Cookery at SCQF level 4 to further SVQs in the Hospitality and Professional Cookery suite at SCQF level 5 or 6.
