Are you a ready to leave school and you would like to come to college? Would you like to learn to become more independent in a fun and supportive environment?

If you had extra help at school and you would like to carry on learning, then this will be a good stepping stone for you. It’s perfect for you if you enjoy learning and taking part in creative projects, learning about health and fitness and working with others. 

It’s all about learning and having fun at the same time!

    What the course includes

    In this course, you’ll work in small groups to complete fun tasks and projects with other students from the college. You’ll get to: 

    Build practical skills like crafting, or using technology to support projects like the Winter Fayre 

    Learn about health and wellbeing to stay happy and healthy 

    Make new friends and understand how to build positive relationships 

    Explore job skills to help you think about future careers 

    It’s all about learning together, having fun, and getting ready for the future! 

Foundation Skills 3

Why choose this course

You’ll learn important skills for living independently with support and get to join in on fun activities across the college and hear from guest speakers. You will hear form different people and the jobs they have. For example, you might meet the local police officer who can tell you how to keep safe or have a taster session across the college for example in childcare or construction. 

 

 

Entry requirements

No formal requirements.  

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.

We will invite you for an informal chat so we can tell you about the course and find out what you need.  

The college works closely with all secondary schools in West Lothian and staff in school will advise you when the transition period has been agreed for your school. If you are a school pupil speak to staff in school about what’s on offer at college.
