This course is for S4 students who are interested in child development and/or education and would like to learn the basics of the subject.

Friday 1:30pm-3:30pm

    • Children’s development
    • Their needs
    • The importance of play for children’s development and learning

Entry requirements

  • Particularly suitable for those who are studying at National 5 level or equivalent in most of their school work
  • Must be working towards National 5 qualifications
  • Where this course leads

    The course allows you to progress to full-time NC level 6 childcare and development. If you prefer to stay at school, you can progress to the Foundation Apprenticeship in social services (children and young people) or NC level 6 childcare and development. This would involve an external project and lead to further qualifications.

We will invite you to take part in a group discussion and to complete a short written task.
