This course introduces you to hospitality and gives you the skills you need for progressing into employment in the industry, or further or higher study. It’s for anyone thinking about a career in the hospitality industry or who wants to progress to travel and tourism, or professional cookery courses.

Friday 1:15pm-3:15pm
Duration: 1 or 2 years

  • What the course includes

    You will study two units from the Skills for Work Hospitality award at SCQF level 4 in year one, and a further two in year two if you choose the two year option.

    It gives you the main skills for progressing on to a variety of courses. Most of the students who take this course consider further study in professional cookery or travel and tourism.

Interview arrangements

We will invite you for an interview. The length of the interview depends on your previous experience and qualifications.

The session will involve a written paper to assess your academic level, and an interview to discuss your experience. We may ask you to come back for a half-day practical skills test, and a second interview.
