This course is for those who want to learn about competing views, perspectives, theories and evidence from social science subjects such as criminology, psychology, sociology and politics.

This course is designed to prepare students for HNC study in the Social Sciences.

    • Social sciences: criminology, psychology, sociology and politics  
    • Level 5 maths, including the SQA external exam

Entry requirements

  • Four National 5 qualifications at C grade or above, including English, and at least one other relevant subject such as Modern Studies
  • National 4 Maths or equivalent

If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.

    Employment: It will give you a range of transferable skills that will be desirable to employers.

    Education: HNC Social Sciences or other relevant HN-level courses within West Lothian College.
