On the 35 week programme you will develop skills and knowledge in a wide range of Engineering disciplines and on successful completion will gain a Scottish Vocational Qualification at Level 2 which prepares you for an apprenticeship programme at Level 3 and/or a future career in a wide range of engineering disciplines: - Systems, manufacturing, design, Electrical, Fabrication and Welding
You will work with highly experience staff, advanced students and local employers you’ll learn through practical activities, employer engagement, presentations, master classes, site visits and work placements.
Having direct contact with employers will also open up many opportunities for future careers in engineering.
Maths Level 4, English level 4 also a Science preferred at Level 4.
If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.
Education: Modern Apprenticeship (Fast Track), HNC or HND in engineering, or another related subjects, articulation into university to study an engineering related subject.
Employment: An engineering role across areas such as aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, fabrication and welding
Normally we will invite you for an interview. This usually lasts for around half an hour and consists of:
Presentation by a tutor about the course
Tour of engineering
Short test (mainly mathematical skills)
Individual interview
